June 17: Dinner Dance, Putnam Farming, Rain

2. Calling all new mothers! The Mahopac Public Library hosts a parenting group for moms of youngsters 1 year old and younger every Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. Connect with others, meet a registered nurse and learn about your child's development, sleeping habits and more. 3. Come out to Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park (Gipsy Trail Road in Kent) at 7 p.m. to learn about local farming and pick up some fresh food. The event will feature a film on the importance of American agriculture. Families are encouraged to bring picnic supplies and there is no admission charge.

4. The eighth-grade dinner dance at is slated to start at 7 p.m. Patch wishes all the students a wonderful evening!

5. Today should be a bit cooler than Wednesday and Thursday, as the National Weather Service is predicting a high of 76 degrees. The agency is also calling for rain and a possible thunderstorm.
