June 17: Dinner Dance, Putnam Farming, Rain

Our five items to keep in mind throughout the day.

2. Calling all new mothers! The Mahopac Public Library hosts a parenting group for moms of youngsters 1 year old and younger every Friday from 1 to 3 p.m. Connect with others, meet a registered nurse and learn about your child's development, sleeping habits and more. For additional details and registration instructions, click here.

3. Come out to Putnam County Veterans Memorial Park (Gipsy Trail Road in Kent) at 7 p.m. to learn about local farming and pick up some fresh food. The event will feature a film on the importance of American agriculture. Families are encouraged to bring picnic supplies and there is no admission charge.

4. The eighth-grade dinner dance at is slated to start at 7 p.m. Patch wishes all the students a wonderful evening!

5. Today should be a bit cooler than Wednesday and Thursday, as the National Weather Service is predicting a high of 76 degrees. The agency is also calling for rain and a possible thunderstorm.
