Kohl's, Student Volunteers Prep Town Park for Spring

More than 25 people people participated.

A few extra pairs of hands left organizers especially pleased with this year's annual cleanup event at Town Park Thursday.

Every year students from Henry H. Wells Middle School's Junior National Honor Society volunteer with the Town of Southeast's recreation department for an afternoon. This year, a handful of Kohl's employees joined in as part of the company's Go Green campaign.

Kohl's is slated to give organizations in communities across the country a total of more than $2 million in grants through the program. Since local employees volunteered alongside of Brewster students, one of those grants is headed to the Brewster Sports Foundation in the amount of $1,500. Don Cuomo, the foundation's vice president, said that the money will go into the general fund for future projects.
