Japanese Law Enforcement Official visits Sheriff

The following was provided by the via a July 6 press release:

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith recently hosted a special visitor.

Mr. Masafumi Kondo, Superintendent of the National Police Agency of Japan met with Sheriff Smith and his administrative staff to learn the workings of and the services provided by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

Superintendent Kondo, who oversees 250,000 police officers in Japan, toured the sheriff’s facilities, met with criminal investigators and looked at the equipment contained in the marked sheriff’s patrol cars.

As the Liaison Officer attached to the Consulate General of Japan out of their New York City headquarters, Superintendent Kondo and Sheriff Smith are very excited about the new-found friendship between both agencies.

Sheriff Smith said, “I am extremely honored and proud of the fact that Superintendent Kondo chose the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office to visit. Through his visit, we have developed a working international relationship that reaches across the sea.”

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
