Couple Describes Route 22 Crash, 'Miracles' in YouTube Video

Two people, identifying themselves as the local couple whose vehicle sped down Route 22 and struck two cars head-on, are telling the story of Thursday's crash via a YouTube video.

Titled "Rach and Ang Testimony," the 15-and-a-half minute video is addressed to the couple's church.

The pair says their vehicle, mentioned as a Toyota 4Runner in the description, was accelerating out of control. The brakes didn't work. Pumping the gas pedal had no affect, they said. And throwing the car into neutral didn't change anything.

"I was saying, 'Just don’t hit anybody head-on, like avoid as many cars as you can,'" the woman says in the video. "Ang was driving and he did a really good job of avoiding people and trying to get through the lines of cars. It was almost 7:30 on Thursday night so it was inevitable that we were going to have to hit something."

They smashed into two vehicles. No one in the first was injured. Two people, a 4-year-old and a 54-year-old, were in the other, and they sustained what police called "massive injuries."

About 11-and-a-half minutes into the video—after the couple describes a sense of "peace" they had before the crash, and the "little miracles" that happened leading up to the collision—the pair asks viewers to pray for the two people hurt.

"We just want to believe for that family keep them in our prayers and just pray that God just floods them with his presence and with his love," they said, adding that they are thankful their lives were spared.
