Freeze Warning in Putnam Starts at Midnight, Ends Friday Morning

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Putnam and nearby counties. It's in effect from midnight until 9 a.m. Friday.

"A freeze warning means below freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely," the agency said. "These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation."

Brewster will see patchy frost after 2 a.m. Friday, according to the NWS. The forecast also calls for partly cloudy skies and a low of about 32 degrees overnight, with west wind 5 to 8 mph.

Local daytime temperatures will peak at 51 degrees on Friday and the sun will be out. Expect more frost Friday night, with a low of about 29 degrees. Saturday and Sunday look sunny, too, with highs of 52 and 54 degrees, respectively.
