I-84 Reopens After Bridge Replacement

Eastbound Interstate 84 reopened Sunday afternoon after a bridge was replaced in Southeast.

The roadway was shut down Saturday evening so crews could destroy one of the bridges that carry traffic over Dingle Ridge Road and slide a new one in its place. There were delays and detours throughout the area.

"Backups on all affected roads are in the process of clearing," the New York State Department of Transportation said in an update at about 12:40 p.m. Sunday.

Dingle Ridge Road will be closed until at least Wednesday (Oct. 23).

The westbound bridge was replaced last month.
