3. Stop by the Third Annual New York Super Adoption Event

 When/Where: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday/ on Central Avenue in White Plains

Why go: Come see hundreds of cats, kittens, dogs, puppies and rabbits who are available for adoption.

4. Brush Up on Your Orienteering Skills

When/Where: 10 a.m. Sunday/ on Chestnut Ridge Road in Mount Kisco

Why go: Co-sponsored by Hudson Valley Orienteering (HVO), this is a day of fun, adventure, and exploration. Orienteering is a sport that uses map and compass to navigate your way as fast as you can through a woodland course of checkpoints. There will be three course levels from easy to challenging. If you are an orienteering beginner, there will be hands-on instruction given by West Point Cadets and Hudson Valley Orienteering experts. Event fee includes 3 maps for each of the 3 courses, waterproof map covers, instruction/training, and refreshments. Children younger than 10 attending the training should be accompanied by an adult. 

Pricing: $20 for non-member adults; $10 for students ages 20 and younger (HVO and member adults: $15 person; member families: $25; non-member families: $35)

5. Support Local Artists

When/Where: 1 p.m. Sunday/Towne Crier Cafe on Route 22 in Pawling

Why go: This show is presented by in Brewster. Several local musicians will perform. Order off the brunch menu and enjoy some tunes!
