Why go: Profits will go toward a memorial for a Putnam County resident who lost his life on 9/11.

Why go: When will you have another chance to listen to 100 high school and college students from across the country sing Christian music?

4. Cool Off at the

When/Where: Noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday/

Why go: The kids will love all the different gadgets and mom and dad will feel some relief, too!

5. Attend a Pasta Dinner to Benefit a Sick Child

When/Where: 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday/Patterson Fire Department on Route 311

Why go: The dinner will be held in honor of Patterson resident Michael Montana, an 11-year-old who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. The family is facing mounting medical bills.

Pricing: Adults are $10; children 10 years old and younger are $5 (kids younger than 3 years old are free)
