Looking Ahead: Pancakes for the SPCA, Fire Department Dinner, Improv and More

When/Where: 7 p.m. on Friday/ in the Village

Why go: A local improv group will be performing classic games, similar to those found on Whose Line Is It, Anyway? and Improvaganza!. You're guaranteed to leave with a smile!

Pricing: $10

2.  Enjoy a 

When/Where: 6 p.m. on Saturday/ on N Main Street in Brewster

Why go: You can support local volunteer firefighters while enjoying some homemade lasagna! Dinner includes appetizers, salad and dessert!

Pricing: $17 for adults; $6 for kids ages 4 to 10; and free for children younger than 3 (reservations are due by the end of the day on Thursday, so make yours soon — email BrewsterFDevents@aol.com or call 845-234-3127).

When/Where: 8 to 10 a.m. on Sunday/Chili's in Somers (80 Route 6)

Why go: If you love hot pancakes on a Sunday morning, you'll definitely want to attend this event. All the proceeds will go directly to the Putnam SPCA, a not-for-profit that works to prevent animal cruelty at the local level. 

Pricing: $8 for adults and $6 for kids

4. Take the Kids to the Great Westchester Toy and Train Show

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday/ in White Plains

Why go: This is the largest toy and train show in the Northeast. See over 250 tables of new and antique toys and trains, all gauges, train parts, layouts, die cast automobiles, books, test tracks, toy soldiers, and games for all ages—food vendors as well.

Pricing: $10 (free for children younger than 12)

5. Support the Arts: See a Performance of Jack and the Beanstalk 

When/Where: 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday/ in Ridgefield, CT

Why go: Take the kids to see this modern day young hero use his imagination to become the famous Jack from the book he is reading. As he spins the tale of trading the family cow for three magic beans, you will watch the giant beanstalk grow as the hero climbs through the clouds to meet an ill-tempered giant, find fabulous treasures and more.

Pricing: $15

If its a reservoir you need the water shed permit.

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
