March 15: State of the County, New Mothers, High School Clubs

Our five items to keep in mind throughout the day.

Editor's note: Information about a sign ordinance meeting initially included in this report has been removed. The meeting is slated for March 29.

1. New mothers are encouraged to attend a parenting group at the  from 10 a.m. to noon in the building's children's room. A registered nurse will be on hand and participants are welcome to discuss anything and everything related to caring for kiddies younger than 1 year old. Siblings are welcome to attend.

2. Several student groups; including Habitat for Humanity, S.A.L.T.Y Hands, Model United Nations and the Science Honor Society; are slated to meet after school today at . For more information, click here and take a look at the daily announcements on the left-hand side of the page.

3. Putnam County Executive MaryEllen Odell is scheduled to deliver her State of the County address this evening in Carmel. for details on time and location.

4. We're looking into a story on the local roadways that are in need of fixing, and we'd love to get your input. Which streets in Brewster and Southeast do you avoid because of potholes and/or pavement conditions? Leave a comment here or email Ashley.Tarr@Patch.com.

5. The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies and temperatures in the high 50s in Brewster today.
