Carmel High School Grad to Compete in Mrs. New York Pageant

Mohegan Lake's Jennifer Czarniecki, a 31-year-old married mother of twins, has been chosen to represent Westchester County in the upcoming Mrs. New York America Pageant on Oct. 26.

Czarniecki was chosen to represent Westchester County after submitting an online application at www.mrsnyamerica.com.

"I never thought I would get a call and have been chosen," said Czarniecki, who has never been in a pageant before.

Czarniecki, who grew up in Carmel and graduated from Carmel High School in 2000, has been living in Mohegan Lake for the last six years. She and her husband Stephen Czarniecki were married on July 2, 2011 and on Sept. 16, 2013, welcomed their fraternal twins, Stephen John III and Christina Anne.

Mrs. Westchester works as a residential habilitation manager for Living Resources Corporation where she oversees community group homes for individuals with developmental disabilities.

"I started working in the developmental disabilities field during my first year of college in 2001," she said. "I immediately fell in love with my job and the field.  I knew I had found my passion and calling in life."

Czarniecki's platform includes bringing awareness of individuals with developmental disabilities; as well as bringing awareness and supporting The March of Dimes – a cause of great importance to her because her twins were born seven weeks premature.

"If it wasn't for the years of research and medical development due to the efforts of the March of Dimes, my preemies would not have received the amazing and life saving care that they did," she said.

Czarniecki will be participating in the March of Dimes Walk for Babies in White Plains on Sunday, April 27. She has put together a team – Tiny Loves 916– in honor of her twins. Click here to support her team

To prepare for her upcoming pageant, she had been reaching out to her community to be a part of as many community events as she possibly could. The current 2014 Mrs. New York America, Melissa Ann Luiso, is also helping her and teaching her all about pageants.

"We are hoping to keep the Mrs. New York America crown in Westchester County," Czarniecki said.

Some of her hobbies include cooking and playing with her "absolutely amazing and adorable twins."

"I love to cook and nothing makes me happier than watching people enjoy my food," she said.
