NYSEG Helicopters to Patrol Power Lines in Brewster in July

The Town of Yorktown announced recently that the New York State Electric and Gas Corporation (NYSEG) would be taking to the sky to ensure safe and reliable services of gas and electric to the area.

During early July, NYSEG will be inspecting high-voltage power lines from low-flying helicopters across parts of Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties.

Mark S. Lynch, president and CEO of NYSEG and RG&E said, “We are conducting routine inspections of our transmission facilities to help ensure safe, reliable delivery of electricity to our customers.”

Lynch continued, “These high-voltage power lines are the backbone of our electricity delivery system. Our goal is to spot potential problems and correct them before they inconvenience our customers.”
