Weekend Weather: Brewster Could See a Foot of Snow

[Update, 2:45 p.m. Dec. 14] The forecast now calls for daytime accumulation between three and five inches.

Here's what the NWS is saying about tonight:

"Snow before 1am, then snow and freezing rain between 1am and 3am, then freezing rain after 3am. Temperature rising to around 31 by 5am. Breezy, with an east wind 13 to 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.3 of an inch possible. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible."

[Original post, 7:45 p.m. Dec. 13] The National Weather Service is calling for Brewster to see three to five inches of snow Saturday, and another three to seven that night.

winter storm warning for Putnam and the surrounding area is in effect from 6 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday. Hazard types include "heavy snow mixing with sleet and freezing rain late Saturday night."
