[Snow Hub] Brewster Comprehensive Plan Meeting Pushed Back; Schools Dismissed

[Update, published at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 21] The Village of Brewster just announced the Comprehensive Plan Committee Meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening is canceled.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 22nd) at Village Hall (50 Main Street).

Students at Brewster Central Schools will be dismissed early Tuesday because of the impending snow.

Brewster High will dismiss at 10:15 a.m., C.V. Starr Intermediate at 11:15 a.m., John F. Kennedy Elementary at 11:25 a.m. and Wells Middle School at 10:10 a.m. Carmel and Mahopac are also dismissing early.

winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Wednesday. The National Weather Service is calling for snow in Brewster to start Tuesday afternoon, with two to four inches of daytime accumulation. Temperatures will peak at about 19-degrees.

"Widespread blowing snow," which could be heavy at times, will likely continue through the night. The agency is forecasting a low around 5-degrees. Another two to four inches could hit the ground by morning.

After-school and evening activities in all three districts are also cancelled. The Southeast Savers Couponing meeting scheduled for tonight has been postponed.
