The Doansburg Chamber Ensemble will open its 2012 season with performances by its duo of flute and guitar. The program will be performed on Saturday, July 14th at 7 p.m. at St. Mary's in the Highland's Episcopal Church at the intersection of Routes 9D and 301 in Cold Spring, New York, and on Sunday, July 15th at 4:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2103 Route 6, just west of Brewster, New York. The Ensemble will feature flutist Christine Smith and guitarist Anna Maria Rosado. Scheduled repertoire for this concert includes Duo No. 1 in D Major, Op. 104 by F. Carulli, J.S. Bach’s Prelude, Fugue and Allegro, Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 by H. Villa-Lobos, and Works by Beaser, Giuliani and others.
These artists have been heard at major performance venues around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, and Lincoln Center. Dr. Rosado received her Doctorate in Musical Arts Performance from the Stony Brook University and she holds degrees from the University of Paris VIII and the University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Rosado has performed extensively in the United States, Europe, Latin America and the Far East. Miss Smith is a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, Pre-College Division, and she holds a Master Degree in Education. She has also received a Certificate of Commendation for Meritorious Achievement from the School of Orchestral Studies.
