For Putnam Folks Looking to Shop Local This Weekend, Sales Abound

Specials are slated to include discounted clothing, gift certificates, jewelry items and more.

With Thanksgiving officially behind us, the time for holiday shopping is here. 

Whether you're headed out with the crowds today for Black Friday or waiting until things quiet down a bit for (Small Business) Saturday and Sunday, big-box and chain stores aren't the only ones offering sales and specials.

Here is a list of stores in Brewster, Carmel and Southeast where customers may find discounted items:

  • Anne Koplik Designs on Main Street in Brewster: Sales for Black Friday, will feature heavily discounted items. The same will be true during the weekend show room sale. Some items will be 75 percent off.
  • Casa Rustica Bonita on Main Street in Brewster: Summer items, including Indian dresses, scarves and tunics, are 50 percent off. Accessories displayed in the windows are 20 percent off, and select nightgowns are 20 percent off. All three specials will be in effect Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Health & Harmony Massage and Wellness Center on Route 6 in Southeast: Gift certificates for couples massages, which usually run $160, will be priced at $100 Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. Customers who purchase the item will be offered a free five-minute chair massage. They will also be entered into a raffle for a massage of the winner's choice. The drawing is set for Saturday.
  • Sunscape Tan on Route 52 in Carmel: Monthly packages will be priced at 40 percent off on Black Friday.
  • The Bowl Company on Main Street in Brewster: Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Black Friday, customers who mention seeing this Patch post will receive 25 percent off any purchase. More specials available here.

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
