Here is the latest when it comes to a couple of local businesses:
-Dilmaghani Rug and Carpet Warehouse, located at 2043 Route 22 in Southeast (near the Patterson border) is holding a sale Friday and Saturday (July 12 and 13) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The business specializes in Persian and Oriental rugs.
-The Valero station located on Route 22/202 in Southeast (across from Carvel) is now open around the clock.
-The space that housed Brewster Square Cleaners in the shopping center on Carmel Avenue in Southeast is now empty. The shop closed recently, and a sign on the door directs folks to Express Cleaners at 993 Route 22 in Southeast (next to Levine Auto and Truck Parts). Ana Padilla, the manager at Express Cleaners, said the owner closed one of her two shops because "the economy is not good."
