Shop Talk: Exchanging Services on Patch

We offer a few different ways for you to connect with fellow community members and share your needs.

Searching for a babysitter? Need to use a certain tool, but would rather borrow than buy? Hoping to carpool next month when the kids have practice three times a week?

Maybe you want to line up a teenager from the neighborhood to shovel your driveway when the next storm hits. Or you've lost the plumber's phone number and need to find a new one.

Look no further than Patch! We are creating a space for you to share your needs with community members, whether you're selling or seeking.

In the comments section below this story, leave a note detailing the service or item you're looking to pick up or give away. You can also email me (Ashley.Tarr@Patch.com) and I'll act as the middleman, posting the request and relaying any responses. A third option is posting an announcement (directions ) and adding this tag: "Southeast Brewster Services." Doing so will allow your announcement to show up on this topic page, another place where community members and I can visit for exchange purposes.

Please keep our Terms of Use in mind as you mingle with folks and work out ways to help one another. And since this is a new feature on Southeast-Brewster Patch, please don't hesitate to reach out and let me know if you have suggestions on how to improve the forum.

I'm happy to kick off the conversation! This morning, I saw an email on the Brewster10509 email group from a resident looking for a tool. Here are the details: "Wanted: Older Stihl chainsaw, O8s or O85, OK if not working, wanted for parts. Will pick up promptly." Can anyone out there help?

Here's another bit of information that falls under the "wanted" category. If you like working with numbers and have some time to spare, take a look at this Facebook post http://patch.com/bvaGX. It's from the Putnam Community Action Program, and they're looking to enlist a volunteer as tax season approaches.

Drove by the Shell in Southeast yesterday (http://southeast.patch.com/listings/shell-275) and noticed that the station is looking to hire a cashier, according to a roadside sign.
