Locally Grown Food Will Go On Display at DeCicco's Food Festival

More than fifty DeCicco Family Markets' vendors will show their wares at a Food Festival in the parking lot of the company's Brewster store on Saturday, July 27 beginning at 10 a.m.

Demonstrations are planned and many exhibitors will distribute samples at outdoor tables and inside the store. [DeCicco is pronounced de-CHEE-ko.]

Music and a Bouncy Castle for children 12 or under are included in the six-hour program.

A prime purpose for holding the event is to alert shoppers to "food grown, raised or produced locally and that is close to our homes," said John DeCicco, Jr., whose father was one of the three founding brothers.

The 40,000-square-foot Brewster store, opened in 2010, is the largest of the eleven markets in the family-owned, 40-year-old grocery chain.  DeCicco also has markets in Ardsley, Armonk, Chester Heights, Cornwall, Cross River, Harrison, Jefferson Valley, New City, Pelham and Scarsdale.
