Three Authors to Speak at Opening of Spoken Interludes' Fall Program
Pulitzer-Prize winning author Michael Moss will read briefly from his new 480-page book that takes on the food processing industry. It's called "Salt Sugar Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us."the Comanche raids of the 1800s to the border raids of the early 1900s to the oil booms of the 20th century.
Philipp Meyer will quote from "The Sun," his work of historical fiction that follows a Texas family from survival from Commanche raids in the 1800's to the border raids of the early 1900's and then to the oil boom era of the 20th century.
The evening’s activities will be preceded by a buffet dinner catered by chef Navjot Arora of the restrurant Chutney Masala. The cost per person is $25 payable by check or cash at the door. Checks should be made out to Chutney Masala. The RiverView bar only accepts cash.
Buffet service begins at 6 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. when the first author is introduced by Michel.
Book signings take place from 8:30 to 9 p.m. The books can be purchased from on-site representatives of The Village Book Store of Pleasantville, NY, by cash, check or credit card.

Spoken Interludes was created in 1996 by Michel. It conducts a number of meet-the-author gatherings annually where writers read passages, answers questions and autograph their latest books.
Michel is a resident of Irvington and the author of "Aftermath of Dreaming" and "The Safety of Secrets," published by HarperCollins.
