U.S. Marines Contingent Attends "White Christmas" Performance at Westchester Broadway Theatre
Personnel from two U.S. Marine Corps units stationed at Stewart Air Base in Newburgh, NY, attended last night's performance of Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" at the Westchester Broadway Theatre in Elmsford.
Twenty-seven marines, their commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel Ian Wallace, and the colonel's wife were in the audience.
The military units, staffed by active-duty Marines and reservists, maintain aircraft used to deliver supplies to American overseas bases.
White Christmas is a romantic story about two wartime buddies who form a successful song-and-dance act and two sisters who are the objects of their affection. It is set at a Vermont ski lodge nearly ten years after the end of World War Two.
The musical ends its run at the Elmsford dinner-theater on January 12, 2014. For more information about the play, click here.
