Trout fishing opened last week and anglers can be seen fishing the popular waterways throughout the area. The New York State Department of Environemental Conservation has stocked many local lakes and streams.
Permits are required and there are limits as to the size, species and number of fish that can be caught in particular spots. Check with the NYSDEC Web site at: www.dec.ny.gov for more information.
