Brewster and Southeast received at least a couple of inches of snow overnight Tuesday, prompting local school districts to close.
The announcement for the closure of Brewster Central Schools came before 5:30 a.m. At that time Carmel and Mahopac were set to open on two-hour delays, but both districts made the call to close a short time later.
The National Weather Service experts predicted freezing rain, snow and sleet, with accumulations less than an inch.
Folks reported clear roads in the village and town by 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.
