Forecast Warns of Strong Winds

It looks like Brewster will see more gray skies and rain, too.

The National Weather Service is predicting fog, rain and high winds in Putnam and Northern Westchester Wednesday and Thursday.

The agency issued a high wind warning, which is in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday for Putnam and many surrounding areas.

"Strong winds in combination with heavy rain could bring down whole trees, large tree limbs, power lines and unsecured outdoor objects," the wind warning states. "This could pose a hazard to anyone out driving or walking Wednesday night, and to houses and other structures near larger trees. Driving will also be difficult, especially in high profile vehicles and on elevated roadways and bridges."
