Officials: Southeast Woman 'Attacked' Trooper

The New York State Police provided the following information. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 38-year-old Southeast woman is facing three misdemeanor charges—including assault and resisting arrest—following a recent domestic incident, according to authorities.

Police arrested Erica A. Turen, of Route 22, around 8 p.m. Friday at her residence. Officials at the say Turen's boyfriend was involved in a physical dispute with one of her family members at the same location. 

When police arrived, following a 911 report of the argument, they escorted the family member back into the home to gather belongings. Authorities say that on the way, Turen—who appeared to be intoxicated—attacked one of the troopers, who was not injured.

The defendant is facing the following: resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration and third-degree assault. She was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond, pending a Sept. 13 appearance in Southeast Justice Court.

No other charges were filed, police said.
