Springtime Snow: Brewster to See Light Coating

Forecasts call for most of the precipitation to fall before 9 p.m. Monday.

Light and wet snowfall is likely to hit the area Monday afternoon and night, leaving a bit of white stuff on the ground in Brewster and Southeast, according to the National Weather Service.

The agency is calling for cloudy skies Monday, with a chance of morning snow, and then the possibility of rain and snow in the early afternoon, as of late Sunday. Snow is likely after 3 p.m., and daytime temperatures are expected to peak around 40 degrees.

They'll drop to the high 20s Monday night, which will likely bring more snow—before 9 p.m.

Accumulation is expected to be less than an inch Monday, and less than half an inch Monday night, NWS reports.

"A coastal low pressure system will impact the area late tonight into Monday night," states a hazardous weather outlook for Putnam County and the region. "Confidence is increasing that this will result in only a light and wet snowfall for the area."

Expect partly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid to high 40s Tuesday.
