Main Street Closed: Utility Pole Repair Happening in Brewster

It was reportedly hit during a recent crash.

Updated post, 9:40 a.m. Monday: Main Street is closed in both directions, from Marvin Avenue to Railroad Avenue. It may remain that way for two more hours, according to Brewster Police Chief John DelGardo.

Eastbound detours will use Railroad Avenue, while westbound will use Marvin or Oak Streets.

Crews from New York State Electric and Gas are reportedly replacing a utility pole and removing a damaged one. The company does not have any outages in Putnam County, according to its website.

Original post, 8:40 a.m. Monday: Officials had a portion of the roadway near Main and Oak Streets blocked Monday morning as crews repaired a utility pole that was hit during an accident over the weekend.
