There are tons of ways to keep busy around Putnam County this weekend, and we're here to help you decide which happenings are for you.

1.
When/Where: 11 a.m. Saturday/Main Street in Brewster
Why go: It's the second season of ArtBeat, and the monthly art festival features tons of local artwork. Come out and mingle with neighbors. The is sponsoring the event.
Pricing: Free
2. Watch, or Participate in, a Home Run Derby to Benefit People Affected by Cancer
When/Where: 4 p.m. Saturday/Peekskill Stadium (located on Louisa Street in Peekskill)
Why go: The event will raise money for Support Connection, the not-for-profit organization that provides free, confidential support services and programs to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer.
Calling all baseball fans for the third annual "Home Run Derby for a Cause," where participants can enter the derby for a $25 donation. Each player will receive 10 hits and the person with the most home runs wins. There will be prizes for first and second place, plus tee-shirts for all participants. Enjoy music, mascots, and a concession stand. Also after the derby, check out the Fireworks Extravaganza Show, courtesy of Peekskill Celebration. There will be shuttle buses available during the afternoon and evening. Call Support Connection at 914-962-6402 to register to enter the derby.
Pricing: $10 donation for spectators (kids under 12 are free)
3. Hear Some Tunes, Have a Few Laughs
When/Where: 8 p.m. Saturday/Lake Carmel Arts Center (on Route 52 in Kent)
Why go: Organizers describe this event, called Vaudeville for the 21st Century, as a "Our triannual evening of short plays, new music and performers of all ages."
Pricing: $10 ($8 for members)
