Concerts Around the Corner, “The British Are Coming: Concert, Lecture, Exhibit”

The Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition presents, “The British Are Coming”, Sunday, July 13th, 5PM at the Studio Around the Corner.

Robert Zubrycki and Laura Bald, violins; Adria Benjamin, viola: Katherine Cherbas, cello; Jennifer Tao, piano and Phillip Anderson, tenor, will perform British music from the early 20th century. The program will include works by Edward Elgar, Dame Ethel Smyth, Rebecca Clarke and Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Violinist, Robert Zubrycki is the president of the Town of Southeast Cultural Arts Coalition and an active performer within many facets of New York’s music world - from chamber music to Broadway. He is currently a member of the orchestra for the Tony award winning musical, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, is Concertmaster for the New York City Chamber Orchestra and a member of the American Symphony Orchestra. He will be joined by his colleagues from the American Symphony Orchestra and other prestigious ensembles for this program at the Studio. 

Pianist, Jennifer Tao began studies at the age of five, and first appeared as a soloist with orchestra at age ten. A year later, she won critical acclaim for her performance as soloist with conductor, Arthur Fiedler. She went on to win prizes in numerous distinguished competitions, and enjoy an international career. She is currently a member of the piano faculty at Princeton University. Jennifer will perform on the Coalition’s Steinway L Series grand piano, on extended loan from Cheryl Palmer & Estate of Edward H Vito, Sr., made possible in part by the generosity of Rob and Stefani Gosselink.

Amy Campanaro, director of the Southeast Museum will provide a historical narrative and a collection of artifacts from the Museum’s archives will be on display.
