According to John, “The future of musical
theater is in the hands of the young!” Adding, “LUCKY BOY speaks to the fears,
hopes and dreams of today’s young people the same way that HAIR did in the 60s,
GREASE in the 70s, THE WALL in the 80s, RENT in the 90s and SPRING AWAKENING at
the start of the new millennium. Now it’s 2014, and it’s time for LUCKY BOY...”

Talented and charismatic high school senior,
Jason Tripp, is on top of his game and ready to take on the world! Respected by
the guys and chased by the girls, he’s destined to make it and make it big. However,
when his world is suddenly turned upside down by changing events, Jason goes
from being top-dog to becoming a stranger in a strange place in just one day.
Little does Jason know that a serendipitous collision with an off-beat group of
“loser” kids would unexpectedly become his - and their - saving grace.

John Ryerson wrote the Book, Music and
Lyrics for LUCKY BOY. His last New York City musical production, PIPER’S SONG originally
showcased at the Gene Frankel Theatre in 2003 and received glowing praise in Ben
Bradley’s Curtain Up review: “A
potential winner!” “The music is a rich tapestry of energy and emotion…a cornucopia
of musical texture!” “…recalling shows such as HAIR, PROMENADE, RUNAWAYS and URINETOWN
– all good company for reaching a wide and varied audience.”

John Ryerson is also the Artistic Director
of PPYT a nationally recognized award-winning children's theater in Stormville, NY. His spouse, award-winning actress Bonnie
Halligan is Co-Director at PPYT, as well as Director for LUCKY BOY.

Choreographer for LUCKY BOY is Carmel High
School graduate and dance major at The Hart School of Dance, Kayla Hamilton, a PPYT alum whose experience includes the
American Ballet Theatre and the Joffrey Ballet School of New York. Marketing
for Lucky Boy has been managed by Kevin Johnson, another Carmel High & PPYT
graduate who is now majoring in Music Business with a minor in
Theatrical Producing at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education,
Culture, and Human Development.

All of the LUCKY BOY cast members studied their
craft at PPYT and some are now pursuing musical theater careers at various
conservatories. All are excited to be showcasing their talents to agents and
producers at The Robert Moss Theater (440 Lafayette Street) in New York City
this July 10-13. For more information about the show and cast, please visit
LUCKY BOY on Facebook or Tumblr or call 917-324-8368. Seats
