Founders Day Provides Fun for All in Brewster

Hundreds of people attended the annual celebration, which has been happening for more than two decades.

Main Street in Brewster was closed to traffic Sunday so local folks could walk the downtown and celebrate the Village's heritage during Founders Day.

Vendor tents lined both sides of the roadway while several musical acts provided tunes. Attendees checked out classic cars, enjoyed a variety of food, perused a book sale and watched youngsters have a ball with games and rides.

Organizers made sure the annual event was bigger and better than ever before, as this year's celebration coincided with Putnam County's bicentennial.
