1. Grab Coffee for a Cure

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday/ (on N Brewster Road in Southeast)

Why go: One of the Mahopac Relay for Life teams is hosting this bake sale and raffle. A donation will buy a small cup of coffee.

When/Where: 11 a.m. Saturday/Donald B. Smith Campus (on Old Route 6 in Carmel)

Why go: This event is cosponsored by the  and the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services. Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the Emergency Center, observe a STAT helicopter demonstration and partake in a bunch of other safety activities. There will be games, raffles and food, too.

3. Celebrate the Spring Season

When/Where: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday/ (on Route 312 in Southeast)

Why go: This "Spring Fling" event will include sheep shearing, wool crafts, face painting and tons more.

Pricing: $5 per car

When/Where: 6:30 p.m. Friday or 3 p.m. Saturday/ (on Foggintown Road in Southeast)

Why go: Performers from have put lots of hard work into this show—and it's bound to be a hit with the whole family!

5. Take Advantage of Bicycle Sunday

When/Where: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday/Bronx River Parkway, with parking at the  (on Central Avenue in White Plains)

Why go: During Bicycle Sundays, a portion of the Bronx River Parkway is closed to cars for the exclusive use of bicyclists, joggers, walkers, scooters and strollers. The course runs from the Westchester County Center in White Plains, south to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers—a round-trip of 13.1 miles. There are many points of entry and exit along the way. Parking is available at the County Center lot in White Plains for a fee of $5. In case of rain, the program will be canceled. Bicycle Sundays for the rest of the season are as follows: May 13, 20; June 3, 10, 17, 24; September 9, 16, 23 30.
