VIDEO: Celebrating Maria Fareri's New Ambassador

Eleven-year-old Tyler Mejorado will represent the Valhalla hospital during a White House visit.

Limousines, security and a red carpet were called in to Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center for Fishkill resident Tyler Mejorado Monday.

The 11-year-old was recently named the 2012 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Champion for New York State, earning him trips to Washington D.C. and Disney World, along with other kids from across the country with inspiring stories of survival.

Mejorado was diagnosed with a liver condition at age six and by age 10, he required a transplant. His surgery took place on April 10, 2011 at the Valhalla hospital and now Mejorado said he is feeling "110 percent" better.

"We take care of the sickest kids from all over the Hudson Valley and beyond," said Dr. Michael Gewitz, the hospital's physician-in-chief.

While Dr. Gewitz said Mejorado's case was one of the more complex the doctors have tackled, his parents said the hospital have made the last year an optimistic one for Tyler.

Now, the 11-year-old has his sights set on the future and hopes to pursue a professional baseball career and is rooting on the Mets this season.

"I would love to be in the MLB," he said.
