Bob Hall: Former Brewster Resident

Robert Edward Hall, a resident of Lakeland, Florida, died of cancer on Monday,
April 21st, 2014 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He was born on on January 10th  1940 in New Rochelle, NY to parents, Joseph Hall, of New Rochelle, and Jane Milligan Hall, of Wishaw, Scotland.

After graduating from Blessed Sacrament High School in 1958, Bob attended
electrical school and began his career as an apprentice electrician and then a 
licensed electrician with IBEW, Local 5, White Plains, NY.

He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserves in 1963, and served as a Marine Corps Sergeant until 1969. He married Patricia Joan O’Loughlin on September 26th

“Time is Money” was his personal mantra throughout his career, as an electrician, and later in his role as Vice President of Facilities for Citibank in White Plains, NY and Citibank, Wall Street.

His crowning professional achievement was his role as Deputy Director in the historic reconstruction and renovation of Grand Central Terminal in New York City for the Metropolitan Transit Authority.

Always civic-minded, Bob was involved in many organizations in Brewster, NY, 
where he moved with his family in 1970. He was active in local politics, and served as President of the Brewster PTA, and as a member of the Brewster Volunteer Fire Department. 

Possessing an endless curiosity and thirst for knowledge, Bob had a keen interest in world events. He and his wife, Pat, shared a sense of adventure, and traveled widely. 

An avid Jets fan, he rooted for the team through thick and thin from the team’s 
inception.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia O’Loughlin Hall, and their three 
children: Carolyn Hall Karger and husband, James Karger, of St Augustine, FL; 
Robert Hall of Bronxville, NY; and John Hall of Brewster, NY. He is the proud
“Poppy” of granddaughter, Grace Karger, and grandsons, Jake Karger and Jack Hall.


The second eldest of nine children, Bob is survived by siblings: Joseph Hall and wife, Jo-Anne, of White Plains, NY; James Hall and wife, Anne, of Brookfield, CT; Theresa Hall Dunkel and husband, George Dunkel, of Pinebush, NY; Francis Hall of New Rochelle, NY; Thomas Hall and wife, Jean, of Brewster, NY; and Michael Hall of New Rochelle, NY. He is the beloved “Uncle Bobby” to 57 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, William Roger Hall 
of Pawling, NY, his sister, Jane Anne Hall Maitland of New Rochelle, NY, and his 
grandson, Michael Hall Karger.

He will always be a well beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend to many. He will live forever in the hearts of all who were honored to know him. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 5, 2014 11:00am
at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, NY. Friends may call at the Beecher 
Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 4 to 8pm.
