Calling Hours Wednesday for Patterson Woman

Mary Anastasia, 77, of Patterson, died in Danbury, CT, with her family by her side, on Friday, Sept. 13.
She was born July 4, 1936 in New York, NY, daughter of the late Vincent and Virginia (DeMone) Gerani.

On May 14, 1954, she married the love of her life, Frank A. Anastasia Jr., at Holy Rosary Church in Manhattan. They moved to Patterson 45 years ago and became members of Sacred Heart Church. Frank predeceased her in 2012. 

Mrs. Anastasia was employed as a housekeeper for Green Chimney’s School in Patterson for over 42 years before retiring. She was a member of the Putnam Lake Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. 
 
Mary enjoyed playing bingo and going to flea markets in her spare time. But most of all she will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her three loving sons; Frank Anastasia of Patterson, NY,  Daniel Anastasia of Brewster, NY, and Anthony Anastasia of Patterson. Her son Michael predeceased her in 1990.

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Amy and Lisa, and her great grandchildren Sophia and Hannah; her sisters Rosie Bottcher of North Carolina and Isabel Bosco of New York.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Patterson. Interment will follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery in Brewster. Family may receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Beecher Funeral Home (1 Putnam Ave, Brewster, 845-279-3615, www.beecherfuneralhome.com).

She will be greatly missed.
