Former Brewster Resident Dies at 75

Carolyn R. Bloes of Goshen, CT died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014 at the age of 75 in Torrington, CT, after a brief illness.

She was born Sept. 12, 1938 in Portchester, daughter of the late Michael and Caroline (Hoffman) Saporito. Mrs. Bloes graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1956 then married Edward Bloes in Mamaroneck on June 22, 1957. They moved to Brewster in 1959 where Mrs. Bloes worked for Grolier in Danbury, CT for 10 years then for Millbrook Press in Brookfield, CT for eight years before retiring in 1999. After retirement they moved to Goshen, CT.

Besides her husband Edward Bloes of Goshen she is survived by her daughter Linda Finn and her husband Allan of New Fairfield, CT; her sons Edward Dublois and his wife Colette of Manchester, VT, Keith Dublois of Brick, NJ and Christopher Bloes of Goshen, CT; her brother John Saporito of Poughquag; her sisters Marie Dahlgren of Torrington, CT and Ann Witkowski of South New Berlin, NY; and her grandchildren Whitney, Kasey, Kyle, Hayden, Serena, Alanah, Austin and Griffin.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday Jan. 18 at Sacred Heart Church (116 Grove Street) in Torrington, CT. Interment will take place in the spring. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17 at Beecher Funeral Home (1 Putnam Avenue in Brewster).
