Longtime Brewster Resident to be Remember Wednesday

Services are slated for Thursday.

 provided the following information:

Corinne B. Smith of Brewster, age 85, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, in Florida on Saturday.

Corinne was born on April 22, 1926 in Danbury, CT, the daughter of the late James and Harriet (Durkin) Bruen. She was a graduate of , class of 1943.

On August 10, 1946, Corinne married the love of her life, Robert J. Smith, in Brewster. She was employed as a medical director for a practice in Brewster. In their later years, Corinne and Robert enjoyed their home in Florida, but looked forward to the holidays with their family. Robert predeceased her in 2008. 

Most of all, Corinne will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and friends. And we have to mention how special her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were to her.

Corinne is survived by her three loving children: Thomas (Linda) Smith of Poughquag, Corinne Smith of Florida and Patricia (Robert) Rutledge of the New York area; her cherished seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.    

A Mass of Christian Rite will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday at . Interment will be private. Family may receive friends on from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Beecher Funeral Home (1 Putnam Avenue in Brewster).

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.

Great topics. I really like Mr Jacobs point of view on education. Also "A recipe for aRead More meaningful education." Always looking for more ideas on this topic.
