Obituary: Carmel Man Dies at 72

Funeral is slated for Tuesday.

Beecher Funeral Home provided the following information:

Robert R. Hahn of Carmel, died Sunday in North Salem at the age of 72.

He was born May 22, 1940 in Queens, son of the late Raymond and Helen (Horsham) Hahn. Mr. Hahn served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1961. On Nov. 25, 1961, he married Jo Ann Vivona in Queens. They have lived in Carmel since 1977. Mr. Hahn was a police officer in New York City and retired out of the 47th Precinct as a sergeant in 1982.

Besides his wife Jo Ann of Carmel, he is survived by his four children: Michael Hahn and his wife Debbie of San Mateo, CA, Raymond Hahn and his wife Leia of East Stroudsburg, PA, Diane Ortalano and her husband Victor of Greentown, PA, Frank Hahn and his wife Kristie of Carmel; and 14 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Beecher Funeral Home (on Putnam Avenue in Brewster). Interment will follow in Rose Hills Mausoleum in Putnam Valley. Visitation was from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Contributions in Mr. Hahn's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
