Obituary: Former Area Restaurant Owner Dies

Beecher Funeral Home provided the following information:

Barbara Ann (Bobbi) Sanchez, 73, of Croton Falls and North Salem, died peacefully at Quail Run apartment in Springfield, MA on Saturday.

She was the devoted and beloved wife to the late Juan (John) B. Sanchez; mother of John, Lawrence and James; grandmother of Michael, Samantha, Bryan and Joseph; and a loving mother-in-law to Melanie, Susan and Connie. 

Barbara was born in Croton Falls on March 5, 1939. On Sept. 15, 1962, Barbara Ann Morgia and John Sanchez married there at St. Joseph's Church. She worked for the North Salem School District as a bus driver and lunch lady for many years. She also excelled in her home businesses of Beeline Fashion, Tupperware and Christmas Around the World; being able to travel the world with John. 

In 1980 Barbara and John opened a family restaurant in the Brewster area, called "Casa De Sanchez," serving traditional Spanish and Italian cuisine. Barbara had a true love for people. Nothing brought her more joy than to spend time with family and friends. She truly was the “hostess with the mostess”! She was an awesome leader in her business ventures and guided others to their own success.  

She will be sadly missed by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday(Oct. 18) at St. Joseph's Church in Croton Falls. Interment will follow at Peach Pond Cemetery in North Salem. A wake will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 17) at the Beecher Funeral Home (located on Putnam Avenue in Brewster, 845-279-3615).
