Obituary: Lifelong Brewster Woman Dies

Beecher Funeral Home provided the following obituary.

Jane Lobdell, 81, a lifelong resident of Brewster, died Thursday at her home.

Ms. Lobdell was born in Brewster on Dec. 3, 1931 to Alexander Frazier and Emma Jane (Steacy) Lobdell III.

Ms. Lobdell was a receptionist for Guideposts, Inc. in Carmel for more than 25 years.

A member of the Brewster Presbyterian Church, Ms. Lobdell was also an avid collector. She enjoyed many a lunch date while visiting with friends, as well as trips taken through her membership with Get-About Tours.

Ms. Lobdell is survived by many cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Brewster Presbyterian Church (110 Main Street in Brewster). Interment following at Milltown Rural Cemetery (on Milltown Road in Southeast). Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Beecher Funeral Home (located on Putnam Avenue in Brewster, 845-279-3615).

In lieu of flowers, friends may make a contribution to any of the following charities, which were dear to Jane’s heart:

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.

Great topics. I really like Mr Jacobs point of view on education. Also "A recipe for aRead More meaningful education." Always looking for more ideas on this topic.
