Obituary: Longtime Brewster Man Dies at 70

Services are slated for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Beecher Funeral Home provided this obituary:

William P. Morrison, of Brewster, died Thursday in Danbury, CT, at the age of 70.

Mr. Morrison was born Dec. 12, 1941 in Pittsfield, MA, son of the late William and Dorothy (LaFleur) Morrison, He graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1959 then graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Morrison  served with the Army for six months in 1965 before moving into the reserves until 1971. On April 11, 1970 he married Christine McLaine in Elmira.

They moved to Brewster 36 years ago. Mr. Morrison became a member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Church and he worked as an electric manager for NYSEG for 38 years before retiring in Dec. 001. He was a member of the Brewster Rotary Club for 25 years.

Besides his wife Christine of Brewster, he is survived by his son Sean Morrison and his wife Jennifer of Middletown; his grandson Colin and granddaughter Kelly; and his brother-in-law Mark McLaine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m Wednesday at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery in Brewster. Interment will be private. The wake will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Beecher Funeral Home (located on Putnam Avenue in Brewster, 845-279-3615). 

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Morrison’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or SPOHNC ( Support for People with Oral, Head and Neck Cancer) at www.spohnc.org.

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
