Matthew B. Cilenti Jr., a longtime resident of Brewster, passed away in the early morning on April 21st 2014 at the age of 57.
He was born on December 9, 1956 in Bronx NY to the late Matthew and Michaelina (Calobrisi) Cilenti Sr. Matthew was a 1974 graduate of Brewster High School.
On September 12, 1981, Matthew married the love of his life, Angela Chiarello, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster.
Matthew was an operating engineer for the I U O E local #137 in Briarcliff Manor, NY for 30 years.
He was president of The Putnam County Italian American Social Club in Brewster and very proud of his Italian heritage.
Matthew was a huge New York Giants fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Matthew was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Besides his wife Angela of 32 years, Matthew is survived by two daughters, Jessica T. St. John and her husband Brian of Hopewell Jct., NY and Kristen V. Walls and her husband David of Newnan, GA. Also his two grandchildren, Adrianna and Anthony St. John.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 24, 2014 10:00 AM at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster. Interment to follow at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, Brewster.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 4 to 8pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster.
