ThanksGiving Diner for our veterans

I have volunteered for the past two years for the Veterans’ Thanksgiving Dinner sponsored by Senator Greg Ball and the Military Order of the Purple Heart, Chapter 21. This is a great event to get involved in even if you can only donate food items. To see the joy in the faces of local veterans as we offer thanks for their heroic service to our country, is a highlight of my year. What a great occasion to serve those who served us!  If you are a veteran, please make sure you RSVP for this free dinner, spots are filling up quickly. The Veterans’ Thanksgiving Dinner will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Putnam County Golf Club, 187 Hill Street, Mahopac, NY. This is a seated dinner at 1pm; 3pm; and 5pm. Space is limited.

Items we still need for people to donate are: 20 lb uncooked turkeys, plastic or metal tongs, cleaning supplies, No. 10 cans of string beans,  No. 10 cans of whole white potatoes, cans of cranberry sauce, plastic or metal serving spoons, No. 10 cans of corn, 48 oz cans of College Inn Chicken Broth, premade stuffing, indoor and outdoor décor.

To register or for more information about the event, please contact Senator Greg Ball’s Office at 845-279-3773 or by e-mailing gball@nysenate.gov.
