BPD: License Plate Reader Turns Up Suspended Registration

The Brewster Police Department provided the following information. It does not indicate a conviction.

Officer Al Villani of the Brewster Police Department arrested a 32-year-old woman after a traffic stop in the Village last week.

The license plate reader in Villani's patrol car signaled for a passing 2002 Jeep at about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to Chief John Del Gardo. The officer initiated a traffic stop near Main and Park Streets and found the vehicle's registration to be suspended.

Villani charged the Southeast woman with a misdemeanor and released her pending an Oct. 22 appearance in Brewster Justice Court.
