Brewster Cops Report Arrests in 2 Domestic Incidents

Charges include aggravated harassment, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Members of the Brewster Police Department have lodged charges against two residents involved in separate domestic incidents recently. Here are the details, as per Chief John DelGardo:

  • Miguel Sandoval-Molina, 32, is facing misdemeanor charges of assault, criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child after a Feb. 2 incident. That day, DelGardo and Officer Jaemie Caban responded to a residence in the village after receiving a 911 call reporting an argument and screams. The defendant, who was allegedly intoxicated, is accused of busting through one of the doors to his Garden Street apartment and assaulting a female acquaintance. A 1-and-a-half year old child was present during the dispute. No one was treated at the hospital. Sandoval-Molina was arraigned before Village Justice Richard O'Rourke and sent to the Putnam County Correctional Facility in Carmel on $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond bail. He will be due in Brewster Justice Court at a later date.
  • Gelbu Sherpa, 39, is facing a misdemeanor charge of aggravated harassment after he allegedly threatened several family members. The complainant, a 30-year-old woman, filed a report with police a few hours after the Feb. 6 argument, which took place over the phone. Officers Al Villani and Todd Fisher arrested Sherpa. He was arraigned before Southeast Town Judge Richard Vercollone, who was acting on behalf of the village. He was released pending a later appearance in court.

Um...Since I live in Southeast, I can't vote for Mayor of the Village of Brewster. So why do youRead More think I, a taxpayer of Southeast, paid for this destruction when I really don't have a clue to what happens in the Village? There's a disconnect that needs to addressed.
