Carmel Cops: 'Sexual Tryst' Leaves Restaurant Bathroom Damaged

Carmel Police arrested a 27-year-old Mahopac man on a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge after he allegedly damaged a restaurant bathroom during a "sexual tryst," officials say.

Officer Michael Sheil responded to the Mahopac restaurant at about 9:50 p.m. Thursday after police received a report of a man there damaging a bathroom.

"The owner of the establishment pointed out the suspect to the officers as the male was leaving the establishment," Carmel Police said in a statement. "Upon questioning the suspect it was ascertained that he had used the bathroom as a location for a sexual tryst with another person."

A toilet and a towel rack were damaged.

Police arrested the man on a fourth-degree criminal mischief charge. He was released pending an Aug. 20 appearance in Carmel Justice Court.
