Cops: 2 Drivers in Brewster Area Had High Blood-Alcohol Contents

State troopers at the Southeast barracks report the arrests of two individuals who drove in the area with blood-alcohol levels more than twice the legal limit.

Here are the details:

  • Police charged a 38-year-old Southeast woman with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. She "was found to be intoxicated subsequent to a welfare check that was conducted by troopers after a report of a confused and disoriented subject at a local business," officials said in a statement. Her blood-alcohol level was reportedly 0.20 percent. The legal limit is 0.08. The defendant is due Tuesday in Southeast Justice Court.
  • A 24-year-old New Fairfield, CT man is also facing a misdemeanor charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated. He was arrested at about 3:40 a.m. Oct. 5 after a traffic stop in Patterson. Police pulled him over because he failed to maintain his lane of travel. The defendant's blood-alcohol level was 0.20 percent, police said. He's due Oct. 22 in Patterson Justice Court.
