Cops: Carmel Woman Drove with Blood-Alcohol Level More Than Twice Legal Limit

A 48-year-old Carmel woman is due in court next week to answer an aggravated driving while intoxicated charge stemming from an arrest that took place in Brewster.

Troopers from the Southeast barracks were assisting the Village of Brewster Police Department locate a reportedly erratic vehicle at about 9 p.m. Sept. 11. They spotted the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

The woman reportedly failed standardized field sobriety tests. Her blood-alcohol level was 0.21 percent, according to authorities. The legal limit is 0.08.

Police charged the defendant with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor. She's due in Brewster Justice Court Monday.
