Cops: Man Who Stole Beer from Brewster Store Goes to Jail
He is due in Brewster Justice Court next week.
A 35-year-old Brewster man was charged with petty larceny after he stole four cans of beer from a local store, prompting two employees to chase after him, police say.
Brewster Police arrested Christopher A. Villalobos at about 3:55 p.m. April 21, according to Chief John DelGardo. He and Officer Louis Romano responded a short time earlier to a report of a theft in progress at Kobacker's Market.
Villalobos is accused of walking out with the beer, which is valued at $5.16. Two workers ran after him, as he headed toward the Brewster Fire Department. Authorities were able to intercept the defendant, who had been arrested 16 times before on a range of charges—including misdemeanors and felonies—DelGardo said.
