Cops: Woman Destroys Painting, Scratches Car at Ex's Putnam Lake Home

A 37-year-old New Windsor woman is due in Patterson Justice Court next week on misdemeanor and felony charges after she allegedly damaged property at her ex-boyfriend's home, according to police.

State troopers from the Southeast barracks arrested Nicole Salvatore at about 5:10 p.m. Monday. They received a complaint about her Sept. 8.

Salvatore is accused of entering the Barnard Road home of her ex-boyfriend, with his permission, to retrieve personal items, according to a press release issued Tuesday by police.

"The ex-boyfriend was not at home at the time," authorities said. "While Salvatore was at his home, she destroyed a painting and scratched his vehicle, which was parked in his driveway, causing in excess of $3,000 in damage."

Salvatore is facing a felony charge of second-degree criminal mischief and a misdemeanor charge of fourth-degree criminal mischief. She is due Oct. 1 in Patterson Justice Court.
